Fardous started attending Girls Group programs in 2013 as a middle school student. “Girls Group definitely played a role in my middle, high school, and college career,” she explained. “The programs helped me make sure I always had a plan, whether that would be with employment or with getting into college.”
Fardous graduated from Washtenaw Community College with an associates degree in Math and Science and a concentration in Biology Pre-med, and she is now studying Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. She is still an active member of Girls Group’s Women of Purpose program, where she meets with staff both individually and in group settings. “I like that I always have a mentor helping me along the way, especially getting helpful advice in navigating discussions of salary and resume help,” she said.
Girls Group staff feel incredibly proud and grateful to know Fardous. “She is confident, brave, independent, and so intelligent,” one staff explained. “She takes initiative and you will always catch her smiling. We are so lucky to have her in our programs!”
