Zaire joined Girls Group as a 7th grader in 2017. Now a high school senior, Zaire is getting ready for graduation and preparing to begin her college journey. Girls Group has been influential in Zaire’s journey, providing her with advocacy skills and reinforcing the importance of “exhausting my resources and not feeling nervous to reach out and ask for help when I need it.”
Zaire shows characteristics of leadership, dedication, and collaborative approach when working with individuals.
Throughout her time with Girl’s Group, Zaire has participated in many community service projects, in-school group programs, summer programs, the Girls Group Youth Leadership Council, and college and career opportunities. She prides herself as being a dedicated community member and wanting to give back to others just as Girls Group does for participants.
When asked why she chose to join Girls Group, Zaire said, “I think Girls Group chose me”. Zaire shared Girls Group has helped prepare her for the next steps in life, and all the moments in between. Girls Group has taught Zaire to take things one day at a time and not to stress over the little things.
Zaire is excited to continue to be involved with Girls Group’s College and Career Services Program while she studies Criminology at Eastern Michigan University in the fall. Zaire’s goal is to become a Behavioral Analyst to understand more about her community.
