At Girls Group, Saturday Enrichment Programs are off campus experiences that expose youth to new college or career pathways, volunteer opportunities, and life skills. The University of Michigan’s Women’s Basketball Team met our participants in the past through various program collaborations and our girls love and admire them!
For this cumulative event, The University of Women’s Basketball Team were gracious in providing 30 free tickets to their match up against the University of Detroit Mercy where they won 100-54! After the game, Greta Kampschroeder led a tour of the team’s newly renovated locker rooms, answered participant questions, and signed merchandise for our participants!
This program was inspirational and educational for our girls as they learned what possibilities await them after high school and explored what life as a student athlete at a major university is like.
One participant shared, “This experience was confirmation that I want to pursue basketball in college and I am now considering the University of Michigan as an option.”
